Game Day Look (for the future)

The only way we can catch the NFL games over here is through TV. Which is sad because we can’t really feel the real vibes. But, I wish that one day I can actually catch one of the games live in action! For now, I have already envisioned what would I wear to watch my first football game!

The most important accessory to show support to your favourite teams is a cap! So I found this pretty cool company, Fanatics which has a huge variety of hats, beanies and caps from all of your favourite NFL, Nascar, and NBA teams! I picked this cap because I got a feeling that the L.A. Dodgers will be killing it this year!

Another reason I would wear this cap is because I think you can never go wrong with black! Plus, it has the Dri-FIT tech which is really important so that our heads won’t be dripping with sweat during the games. So our make-up will still be intact! 😉

I went for the full on Athleisure trend with this cap! I am all about the comfort when it comes to fashion and for these kind of events. Also, the pink sleek sling bag would give a nice pop to an all black outfit!

We should try matching our outfits according to our favourite team cap colours! It will be different than the usual match your accessories to your clothes approach. A great idea if you are starting to get bored of your style.

You can find a few caps in different colours from Fanatics. That way you can change the cap according to your mood! So what would you wear to a football game? Share your outfit ideas here or on my Facebook page! 🙂

illy Coffee Workshop and a clutch?

Surprisingly, coffee is still trending these days and after working on my coffee article for female Magazine Malaysia (September 2014 issue) which you can take a look below, I grew more interested about the beans. I worked hard researching and interviewing fellow coffee enthusiast which I think some of you might find familiar. 🙂 To be honest, I’m more of a tea person but sometimes, you just need coffee to function.

So last month, I won a pair of invites to a illy Coffee Appreciation Workshop, thanks to TimeOut KL! I invited my dear friend, Shad to come along and we made our way to Università del caffè della Malesia , fancy schmancy name!

Each of us got a cup of coffee of our choice before the workshop started. I went for the latte which was really nice and smooth! Then, we were given a little intro about illy, coffee and how to distinguish good and bad coffee.

They made a couple of really bad espressos and good ones to let us guess which is good or bad. You’ll know it’s bad when you get a burned or a super sour taste and that taste will stay in your mouth for a long time unless, you brush your teeth or something. It won’t even be drinkable because it was so bad but apparently, most cafes around here serve really bad coffee according to the experts. Also, Malaysian’s palate prefers a bit of bitterness in our coffee too.

Then, it was our turn to make a latte. They showed us how to work the coffee grinder, espresso machine and how to froth the milk to form latte art! I was in charge of the espresso and Shad is in charge of frothing the milk. The machine was really intimidating and, the milk steamer scares me.

Our work! I did the leaf and Shad did the heart! Not bad for our first time, huh? I have a new found respect for baristas who are really passionate in their work, it’s not easy juggling so many orders and trying to brew a perfect cuppa every time.

We also got an important warning from the experts, NEVER EVER ORDER COFFEE THAT COMES WITH 3D LATTE ART!!! I got told off by him because I asked if he could do 3D latte art.
So why we shouldn’t order that? Well, coffee is best taken hot so by the time, the coffee reaches your table with the pretty art on top, the coffee would have lost it’s freshness and the crema would be dry, so basically, you’re getting dry and cold coffee. If you want a cup of coffee that wouldn’t go bad after sitting for too long then opt for the cold options.

He made these so fast! Super cute designs too!

Shad told me to pretend that I’m enjoying coffee in the highlands.

While she drank to the hardworking coffee farmers!

Overall, it was an interesting workshop! I learned some really cool tips and tricks which I can’t wait to test out when I’m checking out cafes!

Group shot with the other participants! Shad and I were the lucky ones to hold the empty coffee tins. 😛

On another note, if you are looking simple and chic clutches that is just the perfect size, do check out Hashtag Malaysia ! I got this lovely clutch from them and I love it! I have my eye on the neon designs too! Better get a few before it’s gone! 😉

It comes with a detachable chain strap too that’s not too heavy too!

Beachin in my dreams

I love Polyvore! Or you can say my love for Polyvore is back! Recently, I stumbled upon a pretty cool website called Glasses Online selling designer glasses and sunglasses plus contact lenses as well. Then, that Derek Lam, Sammy sunglasses caught my eye and my imagination went wild! I always have a thing for leopard-esque brown shades like these. Even when I’m playing Sims 3, I always make my character wear sunglasses like these with her swimwear.

I imagined that with that sunglasses, I would be lounging on the beach with a good book. Clad in a white one-piece swimsuit with gold flip-flops and a woven bag. Very Hollywood-esque. Well, only in my dreams I am living that glamorous vacation. But if I win those sunglasses then I am one step closer to my dream vacation! Help me get a step closer by liking my post on Glasses Online’s Facebook Page!

Roxy’s Dare Yourself Day 3: Mid Valley Fashion Week!

I bet most of the other Roxy Girls were waiting for this event the most! We had to go shoe hunting for shoes which are strappy and with at least 2 inch heels and either in beige, white or pastel colors.

Initially I wanted to hunt around Sungei Wang or Times Square since they sell cheap shoes but I ended searching in Fahrenheit instead because there’s a floor with quite a number of shoe shops.

The minute I saw these, I was like omg, I need to try this on! I did, it was comfortable and the best part was it was only RM45 because it was on the sales section. Like say what!
However, I did not do the ‘walk around the shop for 10 rounds’ in these shoes because I was rushing to get dinner before the shops starts closing. So when I walked in these during the fashion show rehearsal, my toes kept slipping out because my feet was sweating like Niagara Falls cause I was so nervous. That made me walk like a clumsy duck and I was advised to get peep toe shoes since my toes kept slipping or get padding for my brown heels. Then I realized that the shoes were too big for me, that’s one of the reasons why it kept slipping out so easily.
So I was upset that I didn’t do very well at rehearsals because of my shoes, my nerves and I tortured my poor feet. So after rehearsals we girls went to get brunch then I went shoe-hunting with Ana, Natasha, and Ramona.
I couldn’t find any white or nude peep toes at all from the usual chain stores like Vincci and Nose but luckily I found one really pretty pair from VOIR.

Thankfully my toes doesn’t slip out too much in this pair.

All of us got our hair done at A-Cut Above, Mid Valley and make-up done in Inglot! They had to put our hair up in a bun so that our curls can last longer until the fashion show.

Me and pretty Diandra after hair touch ups and in our fashion show attire!

Some pictures credit to Dustyhawk, Senri, Roxy and Kelvin. 🙂

Some touch ups at Inglot too. I wish I can wake with nice hair like this or maybe looser waves.

Celine, Ana and Yasyka, all looking gorgeous!

Hats galore in the Roxy store!

Actually I have been aiming at this dress for the longest time, even before the fashion show! So I was really happy that I got to wear this dress for the fashion show! I think it was fate. I was known as the bride for that day cause I wore a cute peach rose hairband too.

Pretty Kimberly and Dora!

It felt like a red carpet event. Grateful for everything that has happened.

Omg, I was so nervous and I watched the video to see how I did at the catwalk. Gawd, I was walking too fast and posing too fast. Mum said I wasn’t smiling big enough. Too nervous and scared to do that, mum!

My last pose. Thanks to whoever that has managed to capture this.

I seriously love Kimberly’s dress cause it’s blue. I love blues and purples!!!

It was a night to remember. Being able to do this again is really an honor and the girls made it more fun and awesome! I love everyone’s outfit! This year’s collection is way better than last year, more pretty dresses and  tops! I wish I could have it all!
Here’s the video about our entire Roxy experience from Day 1- Day 3! Hope you enjoy it! 😀
P.S: There was this really yummy mochi that was served during the Fashion Show and I really want to eat some again. Sadly, I don’t know the brand so if anyone knows the brand please let me know in the comments. 🙂

Roxy’s Dare Yourself Day 2: Day out in Sunway Lagoon!

Well, yesterday was a very sad day for us Malaysians because elections was yet again won by the government using their sneaky, conniving ways of recounting ballots, giving presents to rural towns and blaming it on the Chinese. They better step it up since they won unfairly. We won’t give up because there’s still the 2018’s election. I’ll be there this time!
Back to my Roxy Girl adventure! This is what happened at Day 2, 9 April 2013. We had an awesome time in Sunway Lagoon!
I was super excited for this because we got to do Wave Riding again and we got to try a different board too this year! It’s like a mini surfboard but thinner and it was hard! I managed to stand for a few seconds without holding onto the instructor’s arm but I crashed into the water but it was FUN!
I seriously want to get that Rash Vest! Too bad I don’t see it in stores. So helpful against fashion disasters and it also covers your tummy.

All 15 Roxy Girls after the wave riding session! From top left: Ramona, Natasha, Geena, Dora (Who just joined us that day!), Syazza and Diandra.
From bottom left: Ry-Ann, Jessica, Cheyenne, Yasyka, Ana, Aamelia, me, Kimberly and Celine.

Us resting while waiting for our turn for a photoshoot session.

After the photoshoot, we set off to ride on the ATV’s!

It was a little slow. Poor Ana, her ATV’s engine kept dying cause it was too slow. After the ATV, we went on the flying fox! It was the first time I tried Sunway’s Flying Fox and it was alright! Felt a bit of an adrenaline rush but I prefer the adrenaline kick I got from the mini surfboard because you’ll feel like you’re floating on water and about to fall at the same time. Too complicated to explain but a must TRY!
Off to lunch after the Flying Fox! Has Spaghetti Bolognese and it was a nice portion and the taste was ok. We went to do some video recordings after that and one of the stuffs we did was formed the Roxy word on the sand. I will post the video done by the official photographers in the next post which will be about the Fashion Show!
We got to play the rides after we’re done with everything so the first thing we went  onto was the Vuvuzela,  the world’s largest water slide! We went on that ride 3 times cause it was that good! MUST GO! Here’s Ana’s video where it shows a scene where we ride on the Vuvuzela.

The next day, my whole body was in pain and my neck hurt so bad. I can conclude that going to Sunway Lagoon is a workout except you don’t feel like you’re sweating most of the time.
